In 1971, an unassuming little coffee shop opened in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. More than thirty years and millions of lattes later, that meeting place has grown into one of the world’s largest and most recognisable brands.
Starbucks has become synonymous with the highest quality coffee, a welcoming environment, personalised service and a passion for innovation. Starbucks continues to grow, and with almost 13,000 locations internationally (and growing!) people all over the world can now enjoy the Starbucks experience.
Starbucks is best known for our company-operated retail stores. Here, our customers can enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and purchase the high-quality whole bean coffees that we roast, customised Italian style espresso beverages, pastries, and other coffee-related equipment.
We're dedicated to being a responsible company.
Giving back to our communities and the environment is so important to us, it's one of our guiding principles: "Apply the highest standards of excellence to the purchasing, roasting and fresh delivery of our coffee and contribute positively to our communities and our environment."
We continually make investments that benefit coffee producers, their families and communities, as well as the sustainability of the land they tend and the natural environment as a whole. When you work at Starbucks, you can take pride in knowing that you're a part of a company that strives to be a responsible neighbour and an active contributor in the communities where you, our vendors and our customers work and live.
Starbucks is, at heart, a people business. This means that our success depends on the happiness of the people who work here. In fact, we call our employees “Partners,” because they truly are partners in our growth and our success. When you work at Starbucks, you work alongside people who are passionate about what they do.
Yes, they're passionate about coffee, but they're also passionate about people, reaching out and creating a work environment – even a world – that's inclusive of everyone and their differences. In return, we're dedicated to providing our Partners with whatever you need to succeed and take pride in your own career.
